The Tri-City Union Gospel Mission is one of Dr. Fayhey’s passions!
Local Optometric Physicians and Volunteers Plan Ocular Health and Glasses Examinations for Local Homeless Shelter.
January 2020- A group of local Optometrists and Volunteers will be performing eye health and vision examinations for the local homeless shelter with the help and organization of Union Gospel Mission. This amazing event will be held at the mission in Pasco, WA on Saturday February 1st from 8 am to 12 pm. These doctors and their volunteers have access to many resources for this event, including the ability to provide 100 pairs of glasses to those in our local community who are in need.
The same group of Optometrists and volunteers were able to host the same event back in November of 2017. They were able to provide approximately 60 pairs of glasses and health evaluations to the homeless in our local community. They hope that the event this year will be even more successful.
“It is our pleasure as Eye Care Professionals to help out our community and raise awareness of the needs we have locally. Providing Ocular health exams to those that are in need. It is our passion to give back. The Union Gospel Mission helps men, women, and children in our community, and volunteers are always needed.”
We would like to say an extra special thank you to HOYA Labs for the prescription lenses that they have generously donated as well as Modern Optical for providing all of the frames and supporting our local community.

When you invest in contact lenses or eyeglasses from our optical dispensary we will donate to Optometry Giving Sight to help bring eye exams and glasses to children who need them around the world. As eye care and community leaders in Kennewick, we believe it is our obligation to help children reach their full potential through the gift of sight. By supporting effective, inclusive, and sustainable eye health initiatives around the world, with a community of like-minded practices and select industry partners, we hope to impact 20,000 children’s lives by providing them with access to eye care.
Optometry Giving Sight is the only global fundraising initiative to specifically target the prevention of blindness and impaired vision by providing eye exams and glasses. More than 600 million people around the world are blind or vision impaired because they do not have access to the eye examination and glasses they need. Donations allow Optometry Giving Sight to help fund the solution by supporting programs that train local eye care professionals, establish vision centers for sustainability, and deliver eye care and low-cost glasses.
